My Immigration Story

From discovering more about my family’s immigration story over the Christmas holidays, I realised that this was a crucial part of the project.  

While I was born in the UK, several of my immediate family members were either born in Kenya or India. This history is so key to this project because it is about celebrating multiculturalism, and my family has experienced several cultures in their lifetimes. This is interesting to me as it not only adds cultural richness to my project but also a personal element to it, something that I like to include in all of my work. It helps me to immerse myself in the culture as well as helping me create the atmosphere that I needed for my project too. 

Luckily, I was able to access old family documents and photographs which would help me to tell this story of multiculturalism a lot better. I plan to include these photos in one of my designs as I am very proud of my heritage.
